About Loewy Foods

Five Generations. One Commitment: Gifting with Purpose.

Loewy Foods was founded in Chicago in 1984, when Mark Loewenstein carried a century-old family tradition from Detroit to a new home. That tradition began in 1894, when Louis Loewenstein opened a poultry stand in Detroit’s Cadillac Square. For more than five generations, our family has been dedicated to helping families, companies, and communities come together through food.

What started as a small chicken counter grew into one of the nation’s largest gift turkey and ham distributors. In the 1950s, Mark’s father, Marshall Loewenstein, shifted the business toward corporate holiday gifting. By the 1990s, Loewy Foods was shipping more than 300,000 gift-boxed turkeys each year across the country.

In 2025, the fifth generation of Loewenstein’s joined the business, bringing new energy and a renewed focus on growth, service, and scale.

Today, Loewy Foods continues this proud tradition — delivering premium gift turkeys, gift hams, and curated holiday packages to companies nationwide. While much has changed over the years, our values remain the same: quality products, thoughtful service, and reliable delivery.

Because the best gifts bring people together.
